Want to make a friend of an artist at a convention? Collect various pictures of your character and put them in one sheet that you can put inside the front cover of your sketchbook. Include things like clothing, markings, any sort of detail you would want to make sure gets included. Artists aren't mind readers and pictures like this will really help ensure you get what it is that you want.
